Being Frank: How many fingers am I holding up?

I do not see very well! A rare genetic disorder called Coloboma reduces my visual field, increases my sensitivity to light, and causes my visual acuity to fall within the legal blindness range. My lack of sight caused me to become phenomenally resourceful, creative, and determined as a person and marketing professional.

I personally find satisfaction in my life through my work and career. And yet, less than a third of Americans under 64-years-old with a disability have a job according to the Bureau of Labor and Statistic. I often wonder, how many other visually impaired and disabled people want to give back to society in a symbiotic way yet have not been included?

I’d like to resurface this article in TVBEurope where I describe the marriage of self-acceptance and inclusion. When it happens, a disabled person can act from a belief they will succeed rather than from fear that they’re about to fall behind.
